PAPAHELA NELLI-CANELLA by Georgiou

I was born in 1960 in Athens.
I graduated from the Athens Law School, working at the same time at the Greek National Tourist Organization. I was a practicing lawyer in Athens from 1986 to 2014 and a member of the Disciplinary Council of the D.S.A. (2009-2011).

Foreign languages: French, English.

Municipal Councilor of Athens, with the “Right to the City-Georgos Kaminis” Party 2011-2019.

Representative in KEDE and PEDA, member of the respective Culture, Sports & Education Committees.
I served successively (2011-2014) as Deputy Mayor for Education and Development, President of the Quality of Life Committee and member of the Economic Committee, President of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens and Deputy Mayor for Culture, Sports and Lifelong Learning.

I had the honor of being elected the first female President of the Athens City Council in September 2014. President and CEO of “Athenaikos Aerio SA” (2014-2016). Deputy Mayor for Commerce, Development and Management of Public Spaces and President of the EPZ from November 2016 to August 2019.

Member of the first Governing Board of the Islamic Mosque of Athens until August 2019, as a representative of the City of Athens.

Coordinator of the procedures for the construction of a Municipal Crematorium.

From September 2019 to 31/12/2023 General Secretary of the Municipality of Nikaia – Agios Ioannis Rentis.
