Deputy Mayor for Technical Services - Athanasios Economou

I was born and live in Byronas. I am married and have two daughters. I am an Electronic Engineer with a postgraduate degree in pedagogy and I worked at the University of West Attica as Head of the Analog and Digital Control Systems Laboratory.
I have been a Municipal Councilor since 2014 with the Dynami Elpidas party, of which I was a representative on the Quality of Life Committee.
At the same time, in the past I was a member of the Board of Directors of KEFO KAREA and the "Isidore & Raymond Duncan" Dance Study Center
Deputy Mayor for Financial Services - Athanasios Kliassios
He was born and raised in Byron, he is a graduate of the 4th Lyceum of Byron and comes from Argolida and Ioannina.
He studied Economics at the National University of Athens, holds a master's degree in Applied Economics & Finance from the University of Athens and has been working as a Business Consultant since 2013.
His involvement in public affairs takes place alongside his studies and work.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Economics Students' Association (2010-2012).
He was first elected as a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in 2016 and was re-elected in 2019. He was a member of the Committee of Young Economists (2016-2019).
He was first elected as a municipal councilor in 2019 and was re-elected in 2023. He served as Deputy Mayor for Culture and Education (2024-2025) and alternate member of the Economic Committee (2019-2023).
Deputy Mayor for Social Policy and Health - Dimitrios Karakostas
Dimitris Karakostas was born in 1987 and has lived in Byron since then.

He is a sociologist, a graduate of Panteion University. He has been actively involved in politics and social activities since his student years as a member of the Board of Directors of the student association and has participated in the local elections of our municipality since 2010.
He has worked in the Ionian Islands region and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Development Enterprise of the Municipality of Vyronas, for the period 2019-2023.
He is married to Ismini Bilitsi and is the father of two children.
Deputy Mayor for Planning & Citizen Services - Vasilios Petsas
Deputy Mayor for Planning and Citizen Services

Resident of Byron. Married and father of two children.
Retired, employee of the TPI & Loans and former employee of the Hellenic Aerospace Industry.
He served for many years as president of the TPI employees' association and member of the Board of Directors of the legal entity (TPD) as a representative of ADEDY.
He participated in TPI workshops and seminars on issues of financial development of the regions and municipalities of the country.
Deputy Mayor for Municipal Infrastructure - Stefanos Papantzimas
He was born in 1957 in the village of KEDRA EVRYTANIAS and grew up in the area of Analipsi tou Byronas.
He is married to Panagiota Karvouni and they have 2 children, Michalis and Giorgos.
He is a graduate of the Technical School of Sivitanidio with a specialization in Building Infrastructure Maintenance.

He is a retired civil servant of the Ministry of National Defense.
He has developed rich political & cultural activity, actively participating in both cultural associations and political bodies.
He was elected for the first time as a Municipal Councilor in the 2023 Municipal Elections.
Deputy Mayor for Cleanliness and Greenery - Georgios Garbounov
George Garbounov is an Automation Engineer and deals with marketing and network development.
He is an executive of a large heating equipment import company.

He is deeply knowledgeable about the problems of education and sports in our city and has served for many years as President of the Parents' Association of the 3rd Byron High School,
Vice President of the Parents' Association of the 3rd Byron High School and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Byron Parents' Association, as well as a member of the Municipal Sports Committee.
Deputy Mayor of Infant and Child Care Centers - Maria Ganetsou
She was born and raised in Atalanti, Fthiotida. She is a graduate of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean, specializing in "Cultural Technology and Communication" and holds an Interdepartmental Master's degree in "Communication and Information Technologies for Education", which was awarded by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Department of Early Childhood Education and Department of Communication and Mass Media), the University of Thessaly (Department of Architecture and Engineering) and the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus (Department of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering).
Her work experience began at the I.E.K. of Atalanti as an "Information Technology Applications Technician" and continued in the same capacity as an external collaborator of the TEI of Chalkida. For 13 years, he worked in Electronic Banking, a large Banking Group, and then was a Quality Control and Training executive at a large energy provider.

She has been living in Byron with her family since 2010. She is an active member of the Association of Cretans, Byron Kaisariani and Pagrati “Allilovothea 1928” and participates in the dance-performance department of the association.
Her hobbies are reading, excursions and dancing.
Deputy Mayor for Sports - Anastasios Giarlelis
He was born and raised in Kareas.
He is married and has two children.

He studied Business Administration at Southeastern Europe College and works as a sales executive at a large Logistics company.
He has served as vice president of the Parents' Association of Karea High School with a constant and strong presence in the sports and social events of our city.
He was an athlete and President for many years in the sports club of our city, A.O. Vyronas.
He was elected for the first time as a Municipal Councilor in 2023.

Nikos Deligiannis is a bank employee.
He has developed extensive social, animal welfare and trade union activities and served as President of the Panhellenic Eurobank Ergasias Staff Association (and previously of the Aspis Bank and Postal Savings Bank Staff Associations) and member of the General Council and alternate member of the Executive Secretariat of the OTOE. As well as a member of the EKA.

He was born in Byronas where he grew up, graduating from the 3rd Lyceum of Byronas.

He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Department of Applied Informatics.
He works as an Information Systems consultant in a consulting firm, actively participating in a wide range of projects, providing services to clients in the field of business planning of information systems as well as IT governance methodologies, in the international and Greek market.
City Maintenance - Costas Stefanidis
He was born in Byron in 1954.
He is a graduate of the Coast Guard School and is currently retired with the rank of non-commissioned officer of the Coast Guard.
He is married and has two children.
He was a member of the national shooting team and took part in the Balkan Games (1981-1982). Founding member of the SEPS, coach and member of the Naval Cadet School. Category 3 coach at the General Secretariat of Sports. He belongs to the ASAED coaching staff, having accompanied the team to the following countries: 1993-Norway, 1995-Italy, 1999-Croatia. Former coach of the pre-Olympic team, 1998-2002 grounds supervisor at the Sports Organization and the Municipal Gymnasium of the Municipality of Byron.
He was president of Doxa Byronas, during the most difficult period for the team, and within two years he managed to raise it from the C’ to the A’ division of Athens and free it from all its creditors. For his contribution, he was unanimously proclaimed by the General Secretary as honorary president of the team.

He was a coach of the Shooting team of the A.G.S.B.I. and the Shooting Federation of Greece, a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Vyronas Association, the Panhellenic Shooting Association, the Coast Guard Association, the Cretan Association and finally the Pontian Association.
In 2018, the Municipality of Vyrona, on the athlete's day, awarded him for his overall contribution to sports.
Primary Education and Culture - Antonios Boziaris

Born in 1977 in Ioannina, originally from Pogoni (Zavrocho) and Dodoni (Agia Anastasia). In 1995 he moved to Athens for studies.
He holds a degree in Health and Welfare Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic and Regional Development.
He has been working in the banking sector since 2005, when he was hired at the Agricultural Bank through a written ASEP competition. He currently works in a large financial group, with many years of experience in human resources management, technological applications and project management.
He worked as a consultant and coordinator in CSF/NSRF programs, on welfare, training, education, labor market and social service provision by local governments and as a research associate at the National Center for Social Research (EKKE), on studies on inequalities in education.
He was an active member of the parental movement until 2025, serving as a member of the Board of Directors, General Secretary and President of the parent associations of schools in Byron (10th Primary School & 12th Kindergarten and 3rd GEL of Byron).
Since 2000 he has lived with his wife Vasiliki in Metamorfosi, Byron, where they created their family and raised their children, Orestis and Ariadne.
He was first elected as a Municipal Councilor in 2023.
Secondary Education - Eleni Damala

Eleni Damala was born in Athens, married with 2 children. She is a teacher with many years of experience in teaching Informatics in Secondary Education and has held the position of Deputy Principal at the 3rd Gymnasium of Vyronas since 2010 and Principal since 2017. She is a graduate of the Department of Computer Systems of the PADA, holder of a Pedagogical Degree from PATES - SELETE, as well as a Master's Degree in Adult Education from the EAP and a degree in flight attendant. She is a certified adult educator and ICT trainer at A' and B' levels, while she has participated in numerous training seminars, workshops, programs and conferences related to Informatics, Management, Teaching, Pedagogy and Lifelong Learning.
Her professional career also includes experience in flight planning as well as in computerization and maintenance of computer systems in private airline companies, while she has published a scientific article at the “New Educator” conference. She is actively involved in volunteering, collaborating with organizations such as SOS Children’s Villages, Ark of the World, PRAKSIS and UNICEF, while also strengthening recycling and social contribution actions in the school environment.
In addition to her educational career, Eleni Damala has an active participation in Local Government, as a Municipal Councilor with the Municipal Citizens’ Movement of Byronas Dynami Elpidas faction led by Alexis Sotiropoulos, but also as an Authorized Advisor for issues related to Secondary Education, while she has participated continuously since 2014 in various committees related to Education such as the D.E.P. but also the Secondary Education School Committee of the Municipality of Byron.
Her multifaceted activity demonstrates her deep commitment to education, social responsibility and technological progress. Her path is characterized by consistency, dedication and continuous pursuit of quality in education and social contribution. With a deep belief in the values of cooperation and active participation, she continues to enthusiastically serve the educational community and humanity.
Municipal Property and Volunteerism - Zoe Athanasopoulou
She was born and raised in Kareas.
She graduated from Kareas High School and is a graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has been practicing law for a year.
During her studies, she developed intense social activity and was an active member of the NGO "Aiesec", participating in social actions in and outside Greece, while at the same time she carried out part of her studies at the "University of Eastern Finland", in Finland.

She has also developed an intense athletic activity as a table tennis athlete at AO Kareas, with whom she participated in competitions both in Byronas and in the territory, and with which club she won several distinctions.
Equality - Eleni Vidali

New Generation - Theophany Mari
Theophaneia Mari was born and raised in Byronas, being a true native of the city.
Since her student days, she has been actively involved in civic affairs, as president of a 15-member and athlete of the historical association “Neoi Byronas”. She studies Russian Language and Literature & Slavic Studies at the National University of Athens, while she has also completed studies as a teacher’s assistant.
She consistently expresses the new generation and its contemporary concerns.
