Electoral Registers – Electoral Districts – Voting
Οι εκλογικοί κατάλογοι αποτελούνται από όλους τους εγγεγραμμένους στα Δημοτολόγια Ελcitizens who turn 18 during the specific year in which the lists are compiled.
Registration in the electoral rolls and the recording of any changes is done through revisions that take place every two months (at the end of each even month) of the year.
The 1st revision of each year also includes those who turn 18 during the specific year, regardless of their date of birth. However, they can only vote if the elections are held in the second half of that year.
Voters are registered in the electoral rolls by Electoral Districts based on their residential address.
The electoral districts of the Municipality of Byron are 4:
- Agios Dimitrios
- Metamorfoseos
- Agia Triadas
- Karea
Voters vote with their identity card. If there are differences in the details of the identity card and those of the electoral rolls, they must be provided with a relevant identity certificate for electoral use by the Municipality. This certificate is issued after the announcement of the elections.
Voters who have been placed in the wrong electoral district should contact the Municipal Registry Department and declare their correct address in order to be placed in the correct electoral district.
Heterocitizens
Those who reside in the Municipality of Byron and are registered in the electoral rolls of Municipalities outside the Prefecture of Attica (except Kythera and Antikythera) are considered as non-residents and may register in the relevant special electoral rolls, in order to exercise their right to vote in their place of residence.
For this purpose, a special application from the interested party to the Municipality is required. A special application is also required for the deletion of a non-resident from the special electoral rolls of non-residents.
Community Voters
Citizens of European Union countries residing in the Municipality of Vyronas may vote in the Municipal Elections or be candidates for Municipal Councilors.
For this purpose, a special application is required to the Municipality, to be included in the special electoral lists of Community Voters. Similarly, an application is required to be deleted from these lists.
