Sotiropoulos Alexios

He was born in 1972 and is a native of Byron. Until the age of 10 (1972-1982) he grew up in the area of ​​Zoodochos Pigi and then (from August 1982) in the area of ​​Metamorfosi tou Byronas.

His father Konstantinos (a bank employee at ETVA) came from Ait/nia (Nafpaktos) and his mother Dimitra (native) from Ilia (Figaleia).

He is a graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a lawyer before the Supreme Court and has been practicing law since 1997.

He has been actively involved in politics since his student years.

He has served as a Special Associate at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (2009-2012), a member of the Board of Directors of OPAP (2010-2012) and of the Fund for the Management of Credits for the Execution of Archaeological Projects (TDPEAE) (2010-2011). He has also been a member of legislative committees and a member of the Examination Committee for the granting of a license to practice law to young lawyers.

Local government:

He was first elected as a municipal councilor in the municipality of Vyronas in the municipal elections of 2006 and was re-elected in those of 2010, 2014 and 2019. In the municipal elections of 2023, he was elected mayor of Vyronas with 59.15%.

Since 2013, he has been the head of the municipal faction under the name "MUNICIPAL MOVEMENT OF CITIZENS OF VYRONA: POWER OF HOPE".

He has served as a member of the Finance Committee (2021-2023), the Quality of Life Committee (2010-2012) and the Municipal Committee (2009-2010) of the Municipality and of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Gymnasium of Vyrona (2006-2008).

Elected member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Attica (PEDA) for the periods 2019-2023 and 2024-2028. He has served as a member of the Finance (2020-2023), E-Government and Citizen Service (2015-2020) and Finance, Development and Labor (2012-2014) Committees of the same Regional Association of Municipalities.

He is Vice President of the Planning, Infrastructure and Networks Committee of PEDA (2024-2028). He has been an elected representative of the municipalities of Attica in the Central Association of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) from 2014 to the present and has served as a member of the Employment and Labor Committee of KEDE (2020-2023).
