Πώς μπορεί ένα οικογενειακό αρχείο να μετατραπεί σε μια ζωντανή σκηνική εμπειρία; Πώς συνεχίζουν να κινούνται μέσα στον χρόνο ιστορίες που μοιάζουν να έχουν σιωπήσει;
Η ποιήτρια Silvina López Medin παρουσιάζει την περφόρμανς What Seems Motionless, Waits, ένα έργο που συνδυάζει ποίηση, αφήγηση, φωτογραφίες, βίντεο και αρχειακό υλικό, συνδέοντας την ιστορία της οικογένειας Duncan με τη δική της οικογενειακή διαδρομή.
Η παράσταση γεννήθηκε μέσα από την έρευνα της δημιουργού στις συλλογές της οικογένειας Duncan, στο Croton Historical Society και στη New York Library for the Performing Arts. Ακολουθώντας τα ίχνη των Duncan ανάμεσα στο Croton-on-Hudson της Νέας Υόρκης και την Αθήνα, όπου η Isadora Duncan και ο Raymond Duncan οραματίστηκαν τον «Ναό του Χορού», στον χώρο που σήμερα στεγάζει το Τμήμα Μελέτης Χορού Ι. & Ρ. Ντάνκαν, η López Medin υφαίνει μια αφήγηση γύρω από τη μνήμη, τη μετανάστευση, την καταγωγή και την κληρονομιά.
Συνδέοντας το αρχειακό υλικό των Duncan με το προσωπικό της οικογενειακό αρχείο, η δημιουργός αναζητά τους δεσμούς που ενώνουν τόπους, γενιές και ανθρώπους. Παράλληλα, θέτει ένα ουσιαστικό ερώτημα: πώς μπορούμε να αφηγηθούμε ξανά την Ιστορία, ώστε οι ιστορίες των γυναικών που έμειναν στο περιθώριο να βρεθούν στο επίκεντρο της αφήγησης;
Γραμμένο και ερμηνευμένο από τη Silvina López Medin και σε σκηνοθεσία της διακεκριμένης Αργεντινής δημιουργού Vivi Tellas, δημιουργού του εμβληματικού Biodrama, το What Seems Motionless, Waits κινείται στα όρια της ποίησης, του θεάτρου και της περφόρμανς, προσκαλώντας το κοινό σε μια εμπειρία όπου η προσωπική μνήμη συναντά τη συλλογική ιστορία.

How can a family archive become a living performance? How do stories that seem to have fallen silent continue to move through time?
Poet Silvina López Medin presents What Seems Motionless, Waits, a performance that brings together poetry, storytelling, photographs, video, and archival materials, weaving the history of the Duncan family together with her own family's journey.
The work emerged from López Medin's research in the Duncan family collections, the Croton Historical Society, and the New York Library for the Performing Arts. Following the traces of the Duncans between Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and Athens—where Isadora Duncan and Raymond Duncan envisioned their "Temple of Dance," on the site that today houses the Isadora & Raymond Duncan Dance Research Center—López Medin creates a narrative about memory, migration, ancestry, and inheritance.
By connecting the Duncan archives with her own family archive, the artist explores the ties that bind places, generations, and people. At the same time, she poses a fundamental question: How can we retell History so that the stories of women who have remained on its margins are finally brought to the center?
Written and performed by Silvina López Medin and directed by acclaimed Argentine artist Vivi Tellas, creator of the landmark Biodrama project, What Seems Motionless, Waits moves between poetry, theatre, and performance, inviting audiences into an experience where personal memory meets collective history.
